North Las Vegas Fire Department Hosts Pancake Breakfast Open House

North Las Vegas, Nevada – The North Las Vegas Fire Department will be hosting an Open House at Fire Station 56, located at 3475 Elkhorn Dr., (c/o Aliante and Elkhorn) on Saturday, February 13, 2016. The community is invited to attend a free pancake breakfast from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. Fire Chief Jeff Lytle’s welcome remarks begin around 9:30 a.m., followed by a variety of fire and life safety demonstrations. Firefighters will be giving station tours indoors, and demonstrating a kitchen cooking fire scenario outdoors. Educational literature on fire safety, drowning prevention, emergency preparedness planning, and smoke alarms will be available. The North Las Vegas Police Department Community Services Division has a comprehensive ID kit that includes inkless fingerprinting for children, DNA collection swab, and wallet card for parents to keep at home in case of emergency. There will also be first aid and CPR instruction, as well as blood pressure checks available free of charge to attendees. Sparky the Talking Fire Truck will make a special appearance! They have the opportunity to practice escaping from a smoke filled room. This is a wonderful opportunity for citizens and neighbors to come meet your local firefighters in their home away from home.
