Community Development Block Grant Program Applications Now Available

The City of North Las Vegas' Office of Housing and Neighborhood Services is pleased to announce the availability of Community Development Block Grant Public Service and Emergency Solutions Grant applications for the 2017-18 program year.

Applications will be available beginning Wednesday, Nov. 16. The deadline for submission is 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 23.

Eligible organizations include public agencies and private nonprofit entities with a current 501(c)(3) status. Only applications that meet federal funding requirements set by the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, as amended; federal regulations 24 CFR Part 570; and Stewart B. McKinney Homeless Assistance Act of 1987, Title IV, Subtitle B, as amended (42 U.S.C. 11371et seq.) are eligible for funding.

Regulations pertaining to ESG funding are outlined in 24 CFR Part 576. Eligible projects and activities must serve low- or moderate-income residents of the City of North Las Vegas.

The city will conduct technical assistance meetings to review the grant application process and requirements. Meetings for prospective Community Development Block Grant applicants are scheduled for 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 21.

ESG application technical assistance meetings are scheduled for 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 3:30 Tuesday, Nov. 22.

All of the meetings will be at North Las Vegas City Hall, 2250 Las Vegas Blvd., Suite 238, North Las Vegas.
