DIVISION: ENGINEERING
TOPIC: WATER SOURCES

Customers of the North Las Vegas water utility receive their water from two sources: groundwater, which is pumped from the deep carbonate aquifer at various wells throughout the City, or surface water, from the Colorado River at Lake Mead. In 1995, of the 39,900 acre feet (1 acre-foot = 325,851 gallons) of water delivered to the City’s customers, about 10% was groundwater, and the remaining 90% was treated Colorado River water.
