The Public Information Officer (PIO) is a position established by Fire Department Leadership. The position is meant to bring the City of North Las Vegas inside the workings and services of the Fire Department. The PIO is the immediate contact for all media with regards to incidents the department may respond to, or any matters that may be requested of the Fire Department. The position is also responsible for matters dealing with the public, answering any questions and responding to any requests made. The PIO is an intricate part in establishing positive relationships with all outside entities and the community. The primary goal of the position is to disseminate information and keep the public informed, in conjunction with working with the media to allow this to happen.
